Beyond Birth:

Mindful Early Parenting Group

Welcoming your new baby home can be the most joyful time full of excitement, but it can also come with its own anxieties, stresses and worry. It might be labour, your health, the babies health, or how life will change. 

We spend months preparing for birth, decorating nurseries or focusing on the physical changes that happens with a new born, but we often forget about the impact on our emotional and mental wellbeing. Our mindful early parenting sessions, ‘Before Birth’ and ‘Beyond Birth’, focus on how to maintain and tend to our own mental and emotional wellbeing, and give you a safe and supportive space to grow this skill. 

Each group has 6 weekly sessions, with ‘Before Birth’ suitable for those in the third trimester, and ‘Beyond Birth’ for parents with infants less than six months old. 

This is not a group therapy session, but it will arm you with the skills to help maintain your mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as meeting other parents. We use mindfulness, journaling, relaxation and conversation as our main activities, giving you the opportunity to reflect on your journey whilst connecting to yourself, partner and bump or baby.

Before Birth

Suitable for those in their 3rd trimester, arming you with mental health skills and guide you on your early parenting journey.

Beyond Birth

Suitable for those with infants less than 6 months old, reflecting on your birthing and early parenting journey so far.

Drop In Support Group

A peer support group in a relaxed and informal setting, to find and build your village.

Before birth sessions are suitable for those in their third trimester, and give you the opportunity to reflect on your mental wellbeing and resilience before your baby arrives and into your early parenting journey.  Themes covered:

  • Transformation

Sessions last for 1 hour, with refreshments provided. 

Congratulations! Your newborn bundle of joy has arrived! Beyond Birth continues to support you in keeping your mental health in balance, using mindfulness, journalling, and conversation to help build your resilience. We will also spend time connecting with our babies to strengthen your bond, and meeting other parents.
